Ik had heel hoge verwachtingen aan het begin van dit boek. Het werd gezien als DE sensatie van Belgische bodem. Ik was dan ook laaiend enthousiast toen het boek werd geleverd.
Ik was was vol enthousiasme aan het boek begonnen, maar ik merkte persoonlijk al snel dat ik er echt mijn gedachten moest bijhouden. In het begin word je echt overladen met informatie, namen en termen, waardoor het best overweldigend overkomt. Er komen best veel personages aan bod, en ik raakte hierdoor soms totaal de draad kwijt. Ik moest echt mijn best doen om mijn concentratie erbij te houden. Ook komen er best veel termen aan bod, waarvan ik de betekenis steeds moest gaan opzoeken in de begrippenlijst. (Ja ik ben een persoon dat graag ALLES begrijpt van het boek, dus over moeilijke termen lezen kan ik persoonlijk niet) Dit zorgde er dan weer voor dat ik hierdoor ook weer moeilijker in het verhaal kon komen.
Wat ik wel heel aangenaam aan het boek vind is de schrijfstijl van de auteur. Lauren heeft een heel aangename en fijne schrijfstijl. Ik was oprecht verrast van de kwaliteit voor een debuterende auteur.
