en-Always - Sarah Jio Review
Enjoying a romantic candlelit dinner with her fiancé, Ryan, at one of Seattle s chicest restaurants, Kailey Crain can t believe her good fortune: She has a great job as a journalist and is now engaged to a guy who is perfect in nearly every way. As she and Ryan leave the restaurant, Kailey spies a thin, bearded homeless man on the sidewalk. She approaches him to offer up her bag of leftovers, and is stunned when their eyes meet, then stricken to her very core: The man is the love of her life, Cade McAllister.
When Kailey met Cade ten years ago, their attraction was immediate and intense everything connected and felt right. But it all ended suddenly, leaving Kailey devastated. Now the poor soul on the street is a faded version of her former beloved: His weathered and weary face is as handsome as Kailey remembers, but his mind has suffered in the intervening years. Over the next few weeks, Kailey helps Cade begin to piece his life together, something she initially keeps from Ryan. As she revisits her long-ago relationship, Kailey realizes that she must decide exactly what and whom she wants.
I'm at a loss for words with this book. It was so incredibly beautiful and touching. I am still reliving the story inside my head over and over again. I just can't let it.
We see the story through Kailey's point of view, who's living the perfect life. Her future has already been fully mapped out. Even though she got everything she ever wanted, there's still something missing in her life. A little piece of history that she still holds on to, even though it's gone.
The story's really cliché, but oh so beautiful and charming. It is such a moving story; you can't let go of it. It took me away to a whole other world. I lost track of time and place around me while reading this book. I had it finished in no time and was kind of sad when I finished it. Not because it was sad or anything, but because there came an end to the story.
It is a feelgood Romance book, and you are left behind with a warm feeling inside your chest. It has such a beautiful fairytale-like ending. It's a gorgeous addition to my bookcase and I could read this story over and over again easily. Absolutely one of my favorite books of 2020.
I loved the author's writing style. It's so well written and she knows how to make you keep on reading. It is such a page-turner. An absolute must-read book if you ask me.
