en-Heartstopper - Alice Oseman review
"Boy meets Boy
Boys become friends
Boys fall in love"
Charlie breaks up with his boyfriend Ben, who
uses Charlie to make out when nobody's watching. After a while, Charlie meets a
new guy Nick. He is a straight guy who is kind to Charlie and they become
friends. Nick introduces Charlie to his friends and they start to hang out a
lot. Charlie starts to fall for Nick, which is ridiculous, because Nick's
straight, right? The boys become such a good friends, but they're both confused
with the situation they're in.
Are they just friends? Or is there something else going on?
OMG! I loved this story so much! It's such a cute story and lovely. So, big thanks to Belgiumbibliophile for recommending this one to me.
I'm usually not a big fan of comic books and graphic novels, but I definitely wanted to give this one a try. And I do not regret it at all. I even ordered the next two books in the series. I really enjoyed this graphic novel and I want to read more books from this author. I can't wait for the next ones to arrive!
The drawings are really good and they tell such a lovely story. Every character gets an introducing in this story, so we know each character by name from the beginning. The point of view switch sometimes between Nick and Charlie. But the story is mostly coming from Charlie. Charlie is a nice and cute guy who thinks he has fallen for a straight guy. We see him struggle with this emotions but he doesn't give up that easy. It's harder for Nick to deal with his emotions. It's the first time he ever experiences something like this. He thought he was a straight guy, but now he is not so sure anymore.
A lovely story of two boys who become friends and maybe even something more. I'm not going to spoil anything, but I really recommend it and I think everyone should read it. I can't express enough how much I loved this story. It's nice to read a romantic love story that isn't the classic 'Boy meets girl and girl falls in love with boy' story.
