en-Midnight Sun - Stephenie Meyer review
When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella's side of the story. At last, readers can experience Edward's version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun.
This unforgettable tale as told through Edward's eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire. As we learn more fascinating details about Edward's past and the complexity of his inner thoughts, we understand why this is the defining struggle of his life. How can he justify following his heart if it means leading Bella into danger?
In Midnight Sun, Stephenie Meyer transports us back to a world that has captivated millions of readers and brings us an epic novel about the profound pleasures and devastating consequences of immortal love.
I've been looking forward to this one for a while now. I was surprised by the size of this book. It Is so big in comparison with the original Twilight book. The cover is so pretty and suits really well with the rest of the books. It's so satisfying to see them all together.
I think it was really interesting to read the whole story again from Edward's point of view. I've learned a lot of things from him and got to see everything in a different perspective. I have learned a lot about Edward and how he reacts to things the way he does. It takes the whole vampire story to another level if you ask me. I think that it is a really nice addition to the book series.
Edward is overprotective when it comes to Bella, and this kind of annoyed me after a while. It was just 'too-much' sometimes. He really sounded like a teenage drama queen to me. I lost my concentration because of this and got easily distracted by other books.
The story is the same as the Twilight book, with extra stories based on Edwards point of view. It is an extension to the original book with a couple of extra stories that Bella couldn't tell.
Long story short: I liked the book and it was a 'good read' to me, but I am not a huge fan of it. I really liked to see the story from Edwards point of view, but it annoyed me after a while.
