The Wicked King - Holly Black Review
You must be strong enough to strike and strike and strike again without tiring. The first lesson is to make yourself strong. After
the jaw-dropping revelation that Oak is the heir to Faerie, Jude must
keep her younger brother safe. To do so, she has bound the wicked king,
Cardan, to her, and made herself the power behind the throne. Navigating
the constantly shifting political alliances of Faerie would be
difficult enough if Cardan were easy to control. But he does everything
in his power to humiliate and undermine her even as his fascination with
her remains undiminished.
When it becomes all too clear that someone
close to Jude means to betray her, threatening her own life and the
lives of everyone she loves, Jude must uncover the traitor and fight her
own complicated feelings for Cardan to maintain control as a mortal in a
Faerie world.

I was really looking forward to reading the Wicked King by Holly Black. The second book is also a limited edition in the Dutch translations. Which is pretty cool and looks so stunning! The book has silver sprayed edges and has artwork illustrations on the inside.
I really liked Jude's character and I think she is so fascinating. She knows the Faerie world like no other, and she knows the ways to trick the Faerie Folk. She knows who she is and believes in what she stands for. She has control over the king of Elfhame and gets him to do everything she wants. She surprises me more and more every time. She is so headstrong and clever. She is always one step ahead and always chooses the winning side.
I was immediately drawn into the story and I could not stop reading anymore. The scenes are vividly written which makes us almost feel like we are the amazing Jude herself.
I was shocked by the end of the book and I would have never guessed this would have happen. I hope she gets back her power and find her way back to the court. So what I am meaning to say: I can't wait to read the final book in this amazing series.
