en-Twilight - Stephenie Meyer review

28/04/2020

When 17 year old Isabella Swan moves to Forks, Washington to live with her father she expects that her new life will be as dull as the town.

But in spite of her awkward manner and low expectations, she finds that her new classmates are drawn to this pale, dark-haired new girl in town. But not, it seems, the Cullen family. These five adopted brothers and sisters obviously prefer their own company and will make no exception for Bella.

Bella is convinced that Edward Cullen in particular hates her, but she feels a strange attraction to him, although his hostility makes her feel almost physically ill. He seems determined to push her away - until, that is, he saves her life from an out of control car.

Bella will soon discover that there is a very good reason for Edward's coldness. He, and his family, are vampires - and he knows how dangerous it is for others to get too close.

I've had this book for quiet a while now ( a few years even) but I haven't read it until last week. Thanks To my TBR- jar! So I finally read it and I loved it!

I loved it so much! I had my thought about this one before starting it, but it turned out so much better than I expected! I really liked the movies when I was younger so I knew every movie by heart, but I must say that they are nothing compared to the books. At least the first book, I still need to read the rest of the books. But I really enjoyed it.

The characters in the book are way better than the movie characters. They are more complicated and have a darker shade around them. Edward is fighting against his nature and tries his hardest to stay away from Bella. But he just can't. We see him struggle as he tries to keep his distance with Bella. It is killing him from the inside, but he knows he is dangerous and he wants to protect Bella from himself. Belle finds herself drawn to Edward, but she's not sure he has feelings for her. We see Bella struggle with her emotions and she is defined to fight for what she wants.

I really loved the story itself. The scenes are so well written and amusing. I was inside the story itself. I felt like I was a part of Bella. We saw everything through her eyes. And I must say that I really enjoyed the scene where she fainted after seeing a drop of blood in biology. The girl who faints at the sight of a single drop of blood, falls in love with a bloodsucking vampire. Hilarious!

I had it finished in no time! I think it is definitely a must read, if you are really into twilight and into vampires and all that stuff. I can't wait to dive into the next books of the series!
