It Starts With Us - Colleen Hoover Review

01/12/2022

Before It Ends with Us, it started with Atlas. Colleen Hoover tells fan favorite Atlas's side of the story and shares what comes next in this long-anticipated sequel to the "glorious and touching" (USA TODAY) #1 New York Times bestseller It Ends with Us.

Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil coparenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date.

But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life-and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter's life.

Switching between the perspectives of Lily and Atlas, It Starts with Us picks up right where the epilogue for the "gripping, pulse-pounding" (Sarah Pekkanen, author of Perfect Neighbors) bestselling phenomenon It Ends with Us left off. Revealing more about Atlas's past and following Lily as she embraces a second chance at true love while navigating a jealous ex-husband, it proves that.

The long awaited sequel to 'it ends with us'. I was completely captivated by 'it ends with us,' so I was therefore eager to read the long-awaited sequel. So I read this one immediately upon release.
Wow! This definitely deserves to be said. I read this book in one sitting. This one was really that good! Of course I already had a fondness for Atlas <3 My heart had a very strong liking for Atlas from book 1. So this book was the perfect addition my heart needed after the gaping hole left by book 1.

I was hugely overwhelmed by this book. In this book we get a broader picture of what Atlas' life used to be like when he met Lily. I must confess that I really did shed a tear at times. The story touches you to the core of your soul. I absolutely could not get enough of this story.

I don't know how Colleen Hoover keeps doing it, but she always manages to touch my little heart with her books. I can honestly say that she really is one of my favorite writers after all.

I can't say I have a preference for 1 of the books. I find them both equally valid with each having their own characters.
