Starsight- Brandon Sanderson review

12/10/2021

All her life, Spensa has dreamed of becoming a pilot. Of proving she's a hero like her father. She made it to the sky, but the truths she learned about her father were crushing. The rumors of his cowardice are true--he deserted his flight during battle against the Krell. Worse, though, he turned against his team and attacked them.

Spensa is sure there's more to the story. And she's sure that whatever happened to her father in his starship could happen to her. When she made it outside the protective shell of her planet, she heard the stars--and it was terrifying. Everything Spensa has been taught about her world is a lie.But Spensa also discovered a few other things about herself--and she'll travel to the end of the galaxy to save humankind if she needs to.

II was completely blown away by the first book of the series. I had it finished in no time. I was very excited about the first book. It was such an amazing story, and I couldn't wait to read the sequel. I was so happy when I heard that Iceberg Books was also going to translate the second book.

I was immediately thrown into the story, and I couldn't put it down anymore. The second book is so exciting! I really loved how the friendship between M-Bot and Spensa developed. You can really feel how they grow close to each other and how they start to complete each other. They really start to bound and start to depend on each other to survive in the universe. I loved these parts so much! It was so beautiful to see how the friendship develops between spaceship and human.

Brandon Sanderson has a nice writing style. He has a way of using more difficult words without making the story more complicated. There are a lot of difficult names and terms used, but it did not seem to make it extra complicated. Everything is well explained and described with a lot of details. It's so well written and it keeps you focused on the book. He has a nice way of describing things and make them so vividly.

I loved the drawings inside the first book, and I was kind of missing them in the sequel. I was so used to them, and I think there was potential for drawings in the sequel as well. I would have loved some drawings of the other species on starsight for example.

Long story short; I really loved the sequel and I hope there is a third one coming soon!
