Throne of glass - Sarah J. Maas review
Enter the realm. Unleash the darkness. Live the legend.
In a land without magic, an assassin is summoned to the castle. Celaena Sardothien has no love for the vicious king who rules from his throne of glass, but she has not come to kill him. She has come to win her freedom. If she defeats twenty-three murderers, thieves, and warriors in a deadly competition, she will be released from prison to serve as the King's Champion.
But something rotten dwells in the castle - and it's there to kill. When her competitors start dying mysteriously, one by one, Celaena's fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival - and a desperate quest to root out the evil before it destroys her world, and the people she has come to love.

Several years ago, I have already read some books of throne of glass series. These I had read in English. Although I liked them, I was not thrilled with them. Then 2 years ago I read 'the assassins blade ' in Dutch. Because of this one, however, I was over the moon and found my love for Sarah J. Maas again.
So with the new appearance of this limited edition, I had no choice but to continue reading the series in Dutch. I flew through this book like an express train. The suspense and intrigue captured my attention and I could not get enough of this story. The suspense is spot on and the mystery in this story takes this book to the next level. I completely devoured this book in a matter of days.
I more than loved the character of Celaena. She is a real power-woman, who won't let anyone bring her down.
I don't know how or what makes me feel like this. But I must confess that I like the dutch translations better than the original ones.
Sarah J. Maas has a fine writing style and knows how to lead readers astray. She makes you think a certain character is behind the murders, when it is someone completely different. And I didn't see it coming at all. She has a unique writing style that causes you to be pulled into another world and you can't let go of the book. I am already looking forward to the appearance of the dark crown.
